Menendez Condemns House Republicans for Refusal to Consider Amendment
Senator Calls Out Opposition for Obstructing Progress in Eighth Congressional District
Congressman Rob Menendez has condemned House Republicans for their refusal to consider his amendment to HR, a bill that would provide critical funding for his district.
“I am deeply disappointed by the Republican leadership’s decision to block my amendment,” said Menendez. “This amendment would have invested in our community and created jobs. It is clear that the Republicans are more interested in playing politics than in helping the people of New Jersey.”
Menendez’s amendment would have provided funding for infrastructure projects, education programs, and job training in New Jersey’s Eighth Congressional District. The district, which Menendez has represented since 2013, is home to over 700,000 people.
“I will continue to fight for the people of my district,” said Menendez. “I will not let the Republicans stand in the way of progress. We need to invest in our communities and create jobs. I will not stop fighting until we get the funding we need.”
