Three Injured in Unprovoked Attacks in Walton County
Authorities are warning beachgoers to be vigilant after three people were severely injured in a string of shark attacks in Walton County, Florida, on Friday afternoon.
According to the Florida Museum, Florida has the highest number of shark bites globally. The attacks occurred on the Gulf Coast of Florida, and photos of the aftermath were shared by the local fire department.
Attacks Leave Three with Severe Injuries
The first attack occurred when a woman was swimming past the first sandbar in the Gulf of Mexico in Walton County west of Laguna Beach. The second and third attacks happened on nearby beaches shortly after.
All three victims were transported to the hospital with severe injuries. Authorities are using boats to patrol the ocean and warning swimmers about the presence of sharks.
