SpaceX's Starship Rocket Takes Fourth Successful Test Flight
After Three Explosions, Fourth Attempt Succeeds
Elon Musk's SpaceX company has had a successful test flight of its Starship rocket. The giant rocket, which is designed to carry astronauts to the moon and Mars, launched from Starbase in Texas on Friday.
The test flight was the fourth attempt to launch the full Starship stack, which includes the Super Heavy booster rocket and the Starship upper stage. The first three attempts ended in explosions, but the fourth attempt was successful.
The rocket reached an altitude of about 10 kilometers (6 miles) before returning to Earth and landing in the Gulf of Mexico.
The successful test flight is a major milestone for SpaceX. The company is hoping to use the Starship to launch humans to the moon and Mars in the coming years.
